PHOTO GUIDE

BETTER PHOTOS.
BETTER ASSESSMENTS.

The service can only assess what is visible in the images you provide. Follow this setup before uploading.

1. Remove protection

Take the card out of sleeves, penny sleeves, semi-rigids and toploaders. Plastic can add glare and hide edge or surface detail.

2. Plain white background

Place the card flat on a clean matte white surface. Avoid textured, reflective or coloured backgrounds.

3. Camera directly above

Keep the lens square to the card. Avoid tilted perspective because it can distort centering and border measurements.

4. Use even light

Use bright diffuse lighting from both sides. Avoid direct flash, strong shadows and hot spots on holo surfaces.

5. Use the main camera

Use your phone's main rear camera at 1x rather than digital zoom. Tap the card to focus and hold the phone steady.

6. Show the whole card

All four corners and the complete edge perimeter must be visible. Do not crop tightly against the card border.

Before you upload

✓ Original full-resolution front image
✓ Original full-resolution back image
✓ Card is in focus
✓ No sleeve or toploader
✓ No filters, sharpening, beauty mode or image generation
✓ No glare over important surface areas
✓ White background visible around all four sides
For foil or textured cards, you may also upload extra angled photos. These can help reveal surface issues that are difficult to see in a straight-on image.
